Russian Fashion Inspiration

August 26, 2016

So as you will have no doubt gathered by now, I am due to go off on holiday to Russia and so there is a bit of a holiday/Russian theme going on at the moment. There is something very distinctive about that Russian look – you see it and you know its Russian.

When I think Russian fashion, I think Ulyana Sergeenko – not only is she an amazing Russian designer and a celebrant of native Russian handiwork –  she is also super cool herself, just look at her…

Anyway, I thought I would share some Russian fashion inspiration with you today – so much gorgeous floral; strong contrasting colours and beautiful bold prints, I love it…

My Holiday Dress Lyst

August 22, 2016

Morning all and happy Monday, hope you had a nice weekend? I had a fab weekend and Monday is much more exciting than usual as I am very soon off on holiday to Russia – so this week on the blog will have a distinct holiday and/or Russian theme to it!

I don’t know about you but I get quite excited about packing for a holiday – I like to do it slowly over a good week and by the time I am done, I have usually packed and repacked at least 20 times. I am rubbish at making outfit choices in advance, as I like to be prepared for every occasion. That is however very difficult with one suitcase… especially when you are me – one who fails miserably at any attempt to travel light!

So anyway, when packing for a hot summer holiday, I always like a selection of dresses so that I have something for every occasion and temperature. Today I have put together my favourite dresses from the recently discovered, online personal shopping experience Lyst

I love all of these and would definitely wear them all on holiday (and again after) so well worth the money. I always like to have a few different dressy/evening dresses, day dresses and beach/pool dresses. I find trousers too hot on holiday, so a dress is perfect for me. I especially love the Self Portrait dress (bottom left). Which is your favourite?

Have a good Monday and I shall be back soon xx

Smythson Greenwich Collection

July 19, 2016

I love Smythson and wanted to share their new Greenwich Collection with you today – its their first collection of travel luggage.

“Aptly named the Greenwich collection after Greenwich Meantime, this symbolic reference reflects both our British heritage and the timeless nature of this collection. Meticulously designed to be lightweight and hardwearing, the Greenwich collection combines calf leather details with a bespoke lacquered cotton with a semi-braided weave pattern to ensure durability. Presented in classic black and elegant granite, this highly technical fabric is water resistant, designed to withstand many journeys.”

Have a quick watch of this little video – you can see all the lovely details close up. Smythson Brand Ambassadors James Norton and Vanessa Kirby were shot with the collection on location at a gorgeous country house in Hampshire, with the campaign capturing the excitement of a weekend getaway…

I particularly like the grey coloured carry on suitcase. Which is your favourite? There is such a timeless elegance to anything from Smythson – you just know that these will still look fabulous in years to come. So there you go, that is all the justification we need!

Have a good Tuesday and I shall be back soon xx

Fendi in Rome

July 12, 2016

Fendi’s 90th anniversary show was held last week at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, which was recently restored by the Fendi family as a gift to the City – a 2.6 million Euro’s worth of a gift, without which the show would no doubt not have taken place! It also marks an amazing 51 years of Karl Lagerfeld being a fashion designer.

The Legends & Fairy Tales collection was launched at the show and as you can see, it has a fabulous whimsical, fairy tale feel to it – very apt then that the models appeared to be walking on water on the Trevi Fountain.

There is a real romantic, enchanted forest feel to the collection, with woodland scenes depicted on gowns and lots of beautiful florals, lace and fur detailing. I love the Fendi twist on the Victorian style boot too!

This Fendi bag bug room was set up for guests to take photos (what an Instagrammers dream!) – how fabulous does this look…

Wow! This really lives up to the fairy tale theme for me and what an amazing (even if pricey!) venue for the special 90th anniversary show. I want a Fendi bag bug room in my house!

I would love to hear your thoughts on this so please leave a comment and let me know.

Have a fab Tuesday and I shall be back soon xx

High Five – Swimsuits

July 1, 2016

Happy Friday! You may have seen recently that High Five is my new Friday feature and is quite simply… my 5 favourites of a particular thing – today is swimsuits and every week it will be something different.

I love a bikini, but sometimes you want to be a bit more covered up – depending on the occasion, or perhaps you are having a fat day, or they can just be nice for a change! Here are my high five…

1 – Monochrome halterneck – £20 – Missguided

2 – Multi-way swimsuit – £32 – Next

3 – Plunge swimsuit – £20 – ASOS

4 – Control wear swimsuit – £35 – Very

5 – Floozie swimsuit – £42 – Debenhams

I am going on holiday to Russia in August and am yet to buy any new swimwear, but will definitely be going for a few swimsuits this year, as well as bikinis. I love the white one in the middle – which is your favourite?

Have a fabulous Friday and I shall be back soon xx
