Welcome to Delightful
Welcome to my fashion & lifestyle blog. This is an accumulation of all of my delightful finds, as well as a bit about me! Hopefully you will pop back to get your daily dose of delightfulness.
Welcome to the latest In Vogue post. I know its not just me who gets super excited each month when they receive their shiny, glossy bundle of delightfulness that is Vogue magazine!? This feature is snippets and trends that I love from the latest issue and wanted to share.
The latest, February, issue is this Spring Summer Collections special with Arizona Muse on the cover – wearing Prada and vintage earrings.
Spring Summer Collections
The Spring Summer Collections are a real mix of looks and styles, so there should be something to suit everyone – everything from icy pastels, 1920′s flapper girls and peplum silhouettes.
Pastels were everywhere on the catwalks and you may remember my post on the Louis Vuitton SS ’12 collection, revealed at Paris Fashion Week, which was all pastels. Vogue advise to steer clear of sickly sweet shades and opt for icy alternatives.
Gatsby glamour (1920′s fashion) is another key trend for SS (did you see my Fashion & Gatsby post?) and Gucci did it fabulously – Gucci in middle below.
I am loving this peplum silhouette and, again, it was all over the catwalks – a few fab examples below. So flattering on the waist.
Chanel SS 2012
This is a photo from the Chanel SS ’12 ad campaign which I just love. Did you see the behind the scenes video I posted recently – it is amazing, take a second to watch it if you can. Karl Lagerfeld is even there with his camera!
This next photo is Chanel showing how pastels should be done for evening wear – by way of subtle iridescent shine. Love the kitten and I MUST HAVE those shoes! Chanel sequined tweed dress £7,253 and Chanel shoes £385.
Mulberry Travel Day Bag
As you know, I LOVE Mulberry and I think this zebra print travel day bag is just gorgeous! I shall add it to my very long Mulberry wishlist!
Alice Cicolini Rings
I have a bit of ring obsession and an ever growing collection! I must say however, I do not have one of these Alice Cicolini beauties yet – beautiful.
I was also excited to see one of the above rings has a tourmaline stone, which until October I had not heard of – and don’t hear about much now. My husband bought me this lovely vintage diamond and tourmaline ring shown below from an antique shop in the pretty town of Arundel (see blog post here).
Stella McCartney
British designer and style icon Stella McCartney spoke to Vogue for this issue about fame, family and fitting out the Olympic squads! You would not think that Stella had just turned 40 and has 4 children, would you?
The Stella McCartney label is fabulous and Stella herself champions women – I think they are impressive. I think the journey of being a women is interesting, too, and I am in that journey with everyone else.
Stella is also now creative director for the Adidas 2012 Olympic Team GB range and she is responsible for creating every single item of the teams kit! There are going to be some seriously stylish looking athletes trotting around London this Summer!
What were your favourite bits from this months Vogue? I especially love the Mulberry bag and the Alice Cicolini rings.
Have a lovely evening and I shall be back soon
xx
