My Curiosity Box

Dec. 19th

Afternoon all. I have been part of the Curiosity Project since it started earlier this year and was super excited to receive my Christmas Curiosity Box last week. It is so fabulous I just have to share it with you!

What is this Curiosity Project I hear some of you saying?! Well - The Curiosity Project is, simply put, a mass exchange of personally chosen gifts between anonymous participants. I give, you receive. You give, I receive…

Once everyone has registered you are sent an address and a brief description of what they do/like and you then make up a Curiosity Box and send it to that person and also wait for yours to arrive. There is a max £20 budget and you fill it with trinkets and curiosities – old, new, crafty, vintage, modern – whatever you like. You put it in a pretty box – decorate it, wrap it beautifully and post. Simple as that!

Everything about my box was perfect – including the lovely vintage style Christmas wrapping paper. Once I had removed that – it was a pretty brown box tied with ribbon. I was so excited when it arrived I just wanted to rip off the paper, but I had to take pics, so had to be careful and take my time!

Once I removed the lid, this beautiful vintage paper greeted me inside – so pretty!

I then came to a lovely piece of lace. I am going to think of something pretty to make with this.

Once the paper was back and the lace removed I was faced by all of these delights and I did not know where to look first! The loveliness was crammed in to every nook and cranny of the box.

In the description of me that my sender received I said that I love bunnies (you all know about Winston!) so I thought it was lovely that she wrote my note in this bunny card – very thoughtful.

The first few items had me squealing and a bit of a tear in my eye. It may sound silly, but it was quite emotional going through it all and seeing how much thought and time my curious friend had put into it!

I love my tea, so loved this idea of including some of her favourite tea for me to try and in a cute labelled little jar!

This porcelain scented pomander is so pretty and is now living in my little office with me on top of the lovely little glass bowl that was also included.

This pretty glass heart decoration is hanging on my tree and will be stored in this little flowery bag to come out every Christmas when I will remember where it came from.

This vintage marriage etiquette book actually made me cry (in a good way!) – it was such a lovely and thoughtful thing to include – perfect. I had included in my description that I am a wedding planner and love vintage things.

A little selection of the other bits here – I am wearing the gold sparkly nail varnish as I type and how pretty are those vintage earrings!

This real vintage Christmas card is fabulous and too cute for me to use – I think I will just keep it! The little tea light holder is another perfect gift for me as I have a bit of a candle obsession – it gives off a lovely sparkly glow.

So what do you think? Isn’t it just a gorgeous selection of gifts?! I think the Curiosity Project is such an amazing idea – in this day and age of email and text – it is so lovely to receive a beautifully wrapped box through the post. You should try it – get involved with the next one.

Any one else been involved with this Curiosity Project, or intends to for the next one?

Have a lovely afternoon and I shall be back soon :) xx
