Laduree Collection at Uniqlo
Since getting my Lulu Guinness top from Uniqlo recently I have been keeping my eyes peeled for their next gem! It didn’t take long as today they have released this really cute Laduree collection and they will only cost £12.90 each!
Aren’t they cute! I love Laduree anyway (so pretty, tasty and luxurious!) so a fab idea to pair up with Uniqlo. I like the one on the bottom right most I think – which is your favourite? There are more on the Uniqlo website so pop over to have a look.

Wedding Wednesday – The Perfect Engagement Ring
Happy Wedding Wednesday! Choosing an engagement ring is not always an easy task – whether the groom is on his own or you pick it together. It is something you will wear for the rest of your life, so finding the perfect ring is very important. Some find ‘the one’ straight away, but for others, it takes more thought and time.
Having so much choice probably makes it harder! You have the jewellery shops of course, but don’t forget to look online as there are so many great websites with a huge variety of rings.
Before you spend the whole weekend trekking around town and all night on the internet it is probably a good idea to at least have an idea of what you are looking for. With that in mind, here are a few questions and concepts that can help you to decide.
Diamond Or Gemstone?
The first decision you make when choosing your engagement ring may be whether to opt for a traditional diamond or a coloured gemstone, or both? Most think of diamonds when it comes to engagement rings, but if you are looking for something a little different perhaps a coloured stone is the way to go? Although why choose – why not have both?! If it is good enough for Kate (I love her diamond and sapphire ring – once Princess Diana’s)!
Classic Or Multi-Stone?
Once you choose your stones, you need to think about the general style and shape too. The traditional image of an engagement ring tends to feature a metal band with a single, prominent diamond on top. However, multi-stone engagement rings have become more popular as alternative options.
What Do You Like In A Diamond?
If you are going for a diamond ring, it is so important to learn a bit about diamonds and what differentiates one from another. Often, you may have a choice between a larger diamond or a smaller but more perfect one. Learn about the four C’s of diamonds - cut, colour, clarity and carat – and you will be better able to decide which qualities you most value in a stone.
What Shapes Do You Prefer?
Diamond shapes vary greatly, and the shape will do a lot to define the ring’s style. Some of the most traditional options include round and oval stones, as well as asscher. However, there are also alternative options, ranging from emerald and pear, to heart or diamond shapes. I think you just need to try a few and see what shape you like on your hand – also think about how it will sit with your wedding ring.
What’s On Trend Now?
If you are looking for a little inspiration, take a look at the current trends in engagement rings - coloured gemstones, vintage settings, and even fancy diamonds – those rare diamonds that display natural colour, rather than the sparkling clarity most of us associate with diamonds. There is so much choice… just enjoy it!
So what do you think? What type of engagement ring do you have or are you hoping to get?!
Have a lovely Wedding Wednesday and I shall be back soon

Dress Shapes
I am always excited when we are threatened with some sun – it means the skirts and dresses can come out! There are various fab dress styles out there – from knee length dresses to maxi, yet most women tend to stick to a certain safe style that they are used to. I thought I would look at a few of the options today to give us all a bit of summer wardrobe inspiration.
Bodycon Dress
Bodycon dresses are not just for supermodels. Many styles actually suck in any wobbly bits to create a neat silhouette, especially knee length dress styles. If you are not confident enough to wear a bodycon, why not try wearing one with different coloured side panels? These side panels create the optical illusion of a perfect hourglass figure. Don’t like your legs… then wear opaque black tights. Unsure about how your arms will look… go for long sleeve or wear a cardigan/blazer.
Tulip Dress
I love tulip dresses – it is such a flattering shape and they are perfect for adding shape to your figure. This style creates an enhanced silhouette for those with a boyish figure and the way in which the dress bunches out towards your hips can hide a multitude of sins and smooth any lumps and bumps if you have a more curvy figure.
Wrap Dress
Wrap dresses are also perfect for adding shape. The way in which the dress folds over the bust area creates the illusion of curves as – perfect for creating an hour glass shape. If you have a curvy figure, the fluidity of the skirt section skims over the lower region, while the top section is fitted – creating the perfect hourglass figure for curvier ladies.
Shift Dress
Apple shaped ladies suit dresses which are perfectly straight – clothing that narrows too much at the waist is not flattering on an apple shaped figure. To maximize this shape, shift dresses should remain shorter in length in order to reveal the slimmest parts of the body – the thighs and legs. Great for boyish figures, but if you feel that it swamps your figure, add a belt around your waist.
Maxi Dress
Maxi dresses suit all shapes and sizes and it is probably my favourite shape. I love wearing a maxi and think it is a summer staple – I took about 6 on my last holiday! They can be dressed up or dressed down too, so great for all occasions. In order to make a maxi dress work for you, wear heels/wedges or flats- depending on your height and the occasion.
So hopefully you can see that whatever size and shape you are, there is more than one option for everyone. Which is your favourite style and which will you try next? My favourite is the maxi and I want to try a bodycon next – how gorgeous is that Herve Leger bodycon at the top?!
Have a lovely day and I shall be back soon
