Coco Chanel Baby Shower

Jan. 16th

Showers (the party variety) are really an American thing – baby or bridal showers – but they are becoming more and more popular in the UK. As a wedding planner, a few of my brides have had them and they are always a massive hit with bride and guest.

I went to my very first baby shower last week and it was so much fun – we ate nibbles and cupcakes, drank champagne, gave gifts, talked babies, got broody and by the end were made un-broody with too much talk of One Born Every Minute hehe! Despite the exciting occasion, it is just a great excuse for all the girls to get together… so why not.

What do you think of this shower business? A great idea or just another cheeky, self indulgent way to get more presents?! I for one think we should shower more and wanted to share this gorgeous Coco Chanel themed baby shower with you today -

Isn’t Coco Chanel just a gorgeous theme for a baby shower – it works so well here.

Would you, or have you had/attended a baby or bridal shower? What was it like… would love to hear your thoughts?

Have a lovely day and I shall be back soon :) xx

Harry Rocks

Jan. 15th

Morning all, how are you doing? Have you had snow where you are? I do love a bit of snow – and even better when it means you have to stay at home for the day!

Harry Rocks is a London based jewellery brand that make it their mission to create individual, fabulously unique pieces by hand using sterling silver, gold plate and semi precious stones. Perfect gift or treat for yourself. Harry Rocks also have great bridal collection - lovely stuff for the bride on the day, or even bridesmaids gifts.

I was very excited to receive my very own Harry Rocks gem last week – this Agnes Vintage Locket Bracelet shown below. I just love that each locket is a one off vintage find, hand sourced from antique markets on a pretty string of fresh water pearls and finished with their signature feather.

Your Harry Rocks delight arrives in this pretty little box tied with ribbon – who doesn’t love receiving something sparkly in a little tied box?!

Isn’t it pretty… I love it! You can see the full Harry Rocks collection on their website and they are also now stocked at Harvey Nichols.

Have a fab day and I shall be back soon :) xx

Too Cute

Jan. 14th

Morning all, how was your weekend? Mine was good – too quick as usual though. I am still fighting this boring flu bug and tiredness, so feeling sorry for myself again this morning – all the more need for Too Cute then…

How ridiculously cute and fluffy is this Chow chow?! I want one!

Have a good morning and I shall be back soon :) xx

Muuto

Jan. 12th

I recently came across Muuto and just love their designs – they hand-pick a variety of Scandinavian designers and together create some gorgeous designs in furniture, lighting and accessories.

They are “striving to expand the Scandinavian design tradition with new and original perspectives. In fact, our name Muuto, inspired by the Finnish word muutos, means new perspective.

muuto

You should definitely take a look at their collections, but I thought I would share my favourites with you today on the blog. I am starting with this beauty – the Nerd Chair designed David Geckeler. This one is pink, but it comes in lots of colours.

I think this Corky Carafe is also very cool, designed by Andreas Engesvik – I love the simple but elegant design. It can be used for wine, water, milk or any liquid you like really.

I love these Pendant Lamps too, they are designed by Mattias Stahlbom and again they come in lots of colours. I always think that some kind of statement lighting goes a long way in any room and I think this would definitely create a statement.

What do you think of Muuto? Too modern and quirky, or perfect for your home? I love their stuff and although my style is not really overly modern or quirky, I like to have the odd item like this thrown in to mix things up a bit!

Which is your favourite item above? I really like the pink Nerd Chair.

Have a fab day and I shall be back soon :) xx

Wedding Wednesday – Winter Wedding Inspiration

Jan. 9th

Happy Wedding Wednesday! How are we all doing today? I am full of flu – so actually feeling quite sorry for myself. Although on a happier note my sister got engaged over New Year, so with me being a wedding planner as well as blogger, this is very exciting news.

I saw this candy cane wedding inspiration board over on Bridal Musings and wanted to share the prettiness with you for today’s Wedding Wednesday.

Bridal Musings

What do you think of this inspiration board? Are these colours that you would choose? I love a Winter wedding – something special about this time of year that you just cannot get in the summer. What about you – would you have a winter wedding?

Have a wonderful Wedding Wednesday and I shall be back soon :) xx

Heavenly Homes – The White Company

Sep. 6th

Good morning all, how are you doing? Did you see my Heavenly Homes post a few weeks ago about Anthropologie? They do some gorgeous home stuff and I thought I would do something similar today by looking at another of my favourite home suppliers, The White Company.

Heavenly Homes today is all about The White Company. The White Company is full to the brim of gorgeous home-ware, gifts and clothing – all of which have a stylish high quality look and feel to them, without being too expensive. As with my recent Anthropologie post I thought I would show you a few my favourite things for a few different rooms.

Their bathroom stuff is just gorgeous and so luxurious, especially the big super soft towels. I know white towels may not be the most practical in the world… but who cares, they look gorgeous and I have never been one for practicality anyway! Love the glass storage jars and the laundry basket too.

The White Company Bedroom

The bedding is also super soft and super luxurious – just look at that bed… you would never get out of it! Again, white is not the most practical, but I still love nice clean white bedding. The soft grey throws and cushions would look great on the white for a bit of contrast and comfort.

The White Company Living Room

I am loving this sheepskin beanbag – how nice would it be curled up on there with a book?! The fireplace storage basket is just genius… after making a right mess trying to store logs and kindling in my last house, I am so getting one of these! I am a little bit obsessed with candles anyway, but a nice big fat 200 hour one? Yes please!

What do you think – are you a fan of The White Company? Which of these looks or items do you like the best? I love the towels and bedding the most, although I really want that candle too! Pop over to the website to see what other bits they have.

Have a great Thursday and I shall be back soon :) xx

Terrariums

Sep. 5th

I must admit when my graphic designer brother Ben told me that he was going to make a Terrarium (or Terranium) – I had no idea what he was talking about! A Terrarium is a miniature landscape with stones and living moss, which you then create your own mini scene in, using model trees, animals, cars, people etc.

After coming across a post on Cool Hunter Ben decided to buy this book below (which you can get on Amazon) and has since got a bit obsessed on his hunt for suitable moss, glass jars and little people!

I was originally a bit worried and thought he probably just has too much time on his hands, but now after seeing the finished results (3 in total) I am actually quite impressed – they do look quite cool on the shelf in his kitchen! Anyway, here are a few photos so you can judge for yourself.

So, are Terrariums something you have come across before? Would you try it yourself after seeing these pics? Do let me know if you do, and send in any photos!

Have a great afternoon and I shall be back soon :) xx

Wedding Wednesday – Website Wedding Invitation

Aug. 15th

Good morning and Happy Wedding Wednesday! I came across this amazing website wedding invitation (via Stylist) and just had to share it with you. When I say website, I mean website - fully designed and illustrated by the couple which tells their story from them meeting to their engagement.

The bride Jess is an illustrator and the groom Russ is a graphic designer – all of which is very clear when you see the detail that has gone into this website – love it! Please click here to view the full site.

What do you think – have you seen anything like this before? I know I haven’t! Would this inspire you to try something like this?

Have a lovely Wedding Wednesday and I shall be back soon :) xx

My Week in Instagram

Aug. 5th

Afternoon – how are you enjoying your Sunday? It is that time of the week for me to share my favourite Instagram photos with you from my week.

As you know – I love sparkle and I love chandeliers, so could not resist Instagramming this beauty!

I had a fab night out on Friday, starting at home with (tasty but dangerous!) frozen strawberry daiquiri’s! This is me, Jess (L’Oreal PR & beauty blogger) and Lucy (Liliyang luxury accessories).

A few more daiquiris later and this is me,  Lucy (Liliyang luxury accessories) and Svetlana (Temple Gregory).

We eventually got out and made our way to Lounge Lover in Shoreditch – to another fabulous chandelier and another fabulous cocktail!

We then moved on to Beach Blanket Babylon, and to be perfectly honest I would go there just for the name! Love it! Love their clock too!

Another singular, but perfectly respectable, reason alone to go there is this Porn Star Martini cocktail – it comes with a shot of champagne that you pour into the glass. Lethal – but amazing!

Next stop was Mayfair club Jalouse – the music was amazing and it was a fab night – loving the DJ’s stage shown below.

After a crazy weekend, Sunday was a bit more relaxing with food at Tuli Chinese restaurant – pretty fish to greet us too.

A Chinese is not right without crispy duck – so crispy duck it was! Pretty flower to brighten up the plate!

Just next to Tower Bridge they have this huge screen up showing the Olympics – such a great atmosphere with everyone out cheering on their countries!

There was even a bit of Mexican entertainment too, with these singers next to the river! I think it is great that everyone seems happy and to be getting into the spirit of things at the moment – why not?!

Svetlana was certainly getting into the spirit of the Olympics when we passed this Olympic Mascot – haha!

Shad Thames (next to Tower Bridge) is such a beautiful part of London and just look how pretty it looks at the moment with all of the colourful Olympic bunting.

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this little peak into my week – pop back next Sunday for another week in Instagram.

Have a lovely evening and I shall be back soon :) xx
