To celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee M&S are launching a gorgeous vintage inspired lingerie collection – available for us to buy online and in store from May. I am actually quite excited about this – not only is about 50% of my lingerie already M&S, but there is something so pretty about these vintage looks – cannot wait to see them all next week. I feel a shopping trip coming on!

They have also created this fab timeline showing the history of their lingerie from the 1920s to the 1980s – pop over and take a look.

The new collection is built around four key looks and uses silk, lace, luxurious satin and mesh combinations to emulate the glamour of the 1950s, including designs based on the original conical bra, corsetry and the big knicker shape. How fabulous!

Did you know – the first M&S bra launched in 1926 and was designed for use under flapper style dresses – but to flatten the chest rather than enhance! Hehe! Oh how times have changed – imagine giving a flapper girl a wonderbra in those days – she would have been horrified!
