Heavenly Homes – Drinks Storage

April 19, 2012

Morning all and I hope you are well? It has been raining for about 3 days now and I am so ready for a bit of sun! At least it is nearly the weekend though!

Heavenly Homes today is all about drinks storage. I am a fan of making a fabulous feature and as you know I like pretty storage, so creating a gorgeous drinks cabinet or drinks area has my name written all over it. Being partial to the odd tipple helps too 😉

You could buy or restore a purpose built drinks cabinet, convert a gorgeous wardrobe, decorate a beautiful trolley or even makeshift your storage from something random like a vintage suitcase or a phone box! Whatever suits you best, here is a bit of inspiration.

What do you think? I would personally prefer the more chic looking option, as opposed to quirky or retro – so think the top 2 options are my favourites – which would you choose?

Have a lovely day and I shall be back soon 🙂 xx

Heavenly Homes – Coveted Closets

April 12, 2012

Morning all. Hope you are having a lovely week? Anyone else a bit thrown by this 4 day week malarkey?!

Heavenly Homes today is all about coveted closets. I think we are most definitely missing a trick here in the UK, as having a big and beautiful walk in wardrobe is very rare, where as in places like America – it would be rare not to have a walk in wardrobe of some kind.

If it were up to me I would declare that all ladies should have one! I am moving house this year so just hoping that there is a room I can convert. In the meantime here are a few ideas for us to swoon over –

Aaaahhh – I so want a gorgeous walk in wardrobe – with a velvet sofa and a fireplace and everything! Fingers crossed for the next house! What about you – do you already have one?

Have a lovely Thursday and I shall be back soon 🙂 xx

Friday Favourites

February 10, 2012

Morning all and happy Friday! What a crazy busy week I have had – is anyone else slightly terrified that it is already 10th February?!

Fashion Favourite – Roberto Cavalli

My fashion favourite today is Roberto Cavalli and his gorgeous gowns – story via Fashion Foie Gras. The designer was honoured with the “AmfAR Award of Courage” at a Gala in New York, for his commitment to supporting the ongoing fight against AIDS.Practically everyone was wearing a Cavalli gown!

Home Favourite – More Pretty Storage

My home favourite is more pretty storage – you may have seen my Storage should be Pretty feature last week? I just came across these fab photos yesterday and thought they were definitely worth adding!

Random Favourites – DIY Brass Valentine & Bunny Winston

My first random favourite today is this gorgeous DIY brass valentines card (seen on Camille Styles) what a great idea and it does not seem that complicated to do. Please click here for full instructions.

My second random favourite is my house bunny Winston! Look how cute he is relaxing on the windowsill – what a grumpy little face hehe!

What do you think of today’s Friday Favourites? Which do you like best? I especially love the shoe storage – and Winston of course!

Do you have any nice plans for the weekend? I am so busy at the moment with wedding planning so lots of that, but also catching up on the blog. A bit of husband & wife time too I hope!

Have a lovely Friday and I shall be back soon 🙂 xx

Heavenly Homes – Storage Should be Pretty

February 2, 2012

Afternoon all. Heavenly Homes today is all about delightful storage. Delightful being the issue, as I think it is all too easy to buy a boring Ikea cupboard or chest of drawers (me included here!), when there are so many other options to make your storage solutions a little bit different – don’t necessarily have to cost more either. Why not get creative and kill two birds with one stone by hiding away all your treasures and junk but at the same time creating a pretty feature?!

You can paint and decorate your current furniture (attaching new knobs & handles always looks good), buy new, go to car boot sales and antique fairs for your gorgeous vintage finds – eBay is good for this too. You can usually find what you are looking somewhere at the right price and then its up to you to customise to suit your room. A few of my favourite storage ideas below –

I think these are all fab and so much prettier and more interesting than a boring cupboard or box! I especially love the shoe cabinet at the top and the Louis chest, which is your favourite?

I hope you are all well today? I am a bit tired after a million meetings all over London yesterday, after which I went straight to the LiliYang launch party – they are a new designer handbag brand with beautiful bags and accessories – want them all! Will be posting more about the bags and the launch in the next few days.

Have a lovely afternoon and I shall be back soon 🙂 xx
